Weather permitting, Hoosier Landmarks For Learning Inc. offers guided tours of the magical Meltzer Woods (1522 S 600 E, Shelbyville, IN 46176).

Located in Central Indiana, Meltzer Woods is one of Indiana’s last old-growth forests. The woods have been included in Indiana’s Classified Forest Program since 1928. They are currently protected by the Meltzer family in partnership with the Central Indiana Land Trust. The woods were designated a National Natural Landmark in 1973.
